K. Flay: Blood In The Cut

Here’s someone I never want to upset. The vibe of K. Flay’s “Blood in the Cut” is like if you mixed Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know” with Fiona Apple’s “Fast As You Can” and then had a good consultation with Peaches. You’re not living if you haven’t had someone you love/loved twist your entire world around for a while. Radio worthy and globally relatable, she laid out some truth here.

Citing M.I.A., Liz Phair, Garbage and Cat Power as influences, this bass-filled, lo-fi indie track is well suited for either skipping town in a convertible whilst tears stream down the sides of your face or traveling in the opposite direction to go give someone stitches.

Her new EP Crush Me is out now and in exchange for your email (or possibly your soul) you can get a free download of “Blood In the Cut” here.
